Aluminum flex J channel not rubber flex J. This pre formed aluminum J is already colored the color you need unlike the vinyl J. Also has a good rigid form instead of the frustrating bowed and buckled vinyl J channel.
Measure the outside of the window or trim and this flex J aluminum will be made slightly larger to ensure a good fit.

This is much better than the hours it takes to push and pull rubber j channel into place. I just measured as you said and the pieces fit great. Thanks.

I always order my vinyl windows pre jayed so there is no extra work for me. I came across a building with aluminum half round windows and they only had a quarter inch cover. Well it would not cover the edge of the siding for sure. I tried flex J and it just wrinkled. Todd told me about this preformed j channel. It costs more but it looks a heck of a lot better and it was already just the right size to fit above the windows.

Do you know how hard it is to put flex j around a vent? I was so happy to find out this vent comes with j channel already on it.
