I was lining up the planning on a retirement home and needed to schedule as much as possible. This was December so I figured I would be ready for the vents around April. I called and set it up. Aprilÿ1 I get an email reminder but I was running behind and asked for May. May 1 I get another reminder. This helped keep me on schedule as best as possible. Only a few places will work with you like this and it is much appreciated. The vents arrived right on time so they were not sitting taking up space.

After dealing with other vent makers and hearing no,no,no I was about to pul my hair out. I called these guys and I don't think they ever said no. I was able to get what I needed without arguingÿor a big price markup. They didn't even as extra for shipping. This is my new vent supplier.

Basic specs for this cathedral louvered gable vent.

size: 1/2 inch smaller than order size (order opening size)

flange: on front

flange coverage: 1 inch on vent face and 1 1/2 inch on wall

face trim: 2 1/2 inch

Measure the gable vent wall opening for your order size as we will deduct 1/2 inch in height and 1/2 inch in width. This slightly smaller size ensures a good fitting gable vent. All aluminum products need a 1/4 inch of room around the product before meeting the wooden wall frame. This allows for expansion and contraction of the wood wall.

How to measure a gable vent?

The front flange has been the most common choice of installers for many years for it's versatility and ease.

Once you slide the gable vent into the opening, the flange on the front will stop it flush to the wall and can be fastened in a number of ways determined by the vent installer. Then sealed off to prevent intruding water if necessary.

The screen on these cathedral louvered gable vents is completely up to you.

vinyl screen: 1/8 inch vented protrusions in charcoal black vinyl screen

We only use a durable long lasting vinyl screen on our gable vents.

Good to keep out wasps and other flying pests.

aluminum screen: 1/8 inch vented holes in aluminum wire screen

We use durable aluminum screen, but it can still be vulnerably to oxidation.

Good for preventing the spreading of embers in fire hazardous locations.

1/2 inch wire mesh: 1/2 inch vented openings in wire mesh screen

Good for keeping out 4 legged pests.

There are no staples or wood frames used in these gable vents. We use an aluminum rail system to stabilize the louvers and make the gable vent impervious to rot and rust.
