Square gable vent designed to be as sleek looking as it is durable. This square gable vent can be ordered by height and width and the depth of the vent will be 1 inch. The front flange of the square gable vent will stop the vent flush with the gable wall exterior.
Order the opening size for your gable vent. All gable vents are manufactured 1/2 inch smaller than the measures ordered. This allows for an easy fit to the opening size.

To tell you the truth, when I read that these are aluminum, I thought about how flemsy flashing is. And I have bought a lot of the stamped aluminum vents that are just that thin. These are just as thick as my sheet metal I use. And flemsy must not be in yalls vocabulary. These were nice and stiff. Glad for it too cause these were a lot bigger than the store bought vents.

We have 24 foot ceilings in our foyer. The top of the walls were sweating off the paint from the sheetrock. We had a GC come in and help us design a solution to the problem. He first tried cutting holes in the sheetrock and applying metal air vents used with HVAC. They worked for a while but soon began to drip with condensation and I soon saw rusty edges on the vents. I like the way they only stuck out the wall about a half inch though. We met again to brainstorm. This time we agreed to have the vents made because the walls were much cooler with the vents. We ordered the 1 thick vents to run continuous around the room and he carefully cut the sheetrock for the vent to slide in and seal off. This gave me my half inch protrusion I was looking for. I do not know if it is because these are aluminum, but I have yet to see the condensation build up and I now know they will not rust. They are working well.

I figured it would be too much to ask but they did it. I ordered my vent with red and white alternating slats with a blue trim.

I did not need a flange for what I was doing. This kept me from spending an hour trimming an unneeded flange off.

It's a vent. You slide it in the hole. It fits. But I do like the fact that the louvers are reinforced and the nail flange is hemmed over. It has almost no sharp edges.

Measure the square gable vent wall opening for your order size as we will deduct 1/2 inch in height and 1/2 inch in width. This slightly smaller size ensures a good fitting gable vent. All aluminum products need a 1/4 inch of room around the product before meeting the wooden wall frame. This allows for expansion and contraction of the wood wall.
How to measure a gable vent?

The front flange has been the most common choice of installers for many years for it's versatility and ease.
Once you slide the square gable vent into the opening, the flange on the front will stop it flush to the wall and can be fastened in a number of ways determined by the vent installer. Then sealed off to prevent intruding water if necessary.
How to install a gable vent?
The screen on these square gable vents is completely up to you.
vinyl screen: 1/8 inch vented protrusions in charcoal black vinyl screen
We only use a durable long lasting vinyl screen on our gable vents.
Good to keep out wasps and other flying pests.
aluminum screen: 1/8 inch vented holes in aluminum wire screen
We use durable aluminum screen, but it can still be vulnerably to oxidation.
Good for preventing the spreading of embers in fire hazardous locations.
1/2 inch wire mesh: 1/2 inch vented openings in wire mesh screen
Good for keeping out 4 legged pests.

There are no staples or wood frames used in these square gable vents. We use an aluminum rail system to stabilize the louvers and make the gable vent impervious to rot and rust.
Stronger louvers have been an issue for some manufacturers. With our advanced technology for manufacturing stronger and longer lasting gable vents, we use a 4 fold louver in all our Signature Series gable vents.
