Order the opening size for your round gable vent if the vent is going in the opening. All gable vents are manufactured 1/2 inch smaller than the measures ordered. This allows for an easy fit to the opening size.

If the vent is going outside the wall, order it at least 2 inches larger than the gable wall opening for fastening.

I saw that my vents would be in on Friday and wanted to install them on Saturday so I picked up some extra trim just in case I needed it. Once I got the vents up they looked so good and fit so good Iÿdid not need any extra trim. I get to return the trim and pocket a few dollars.

These replaced some rather cheap made vents for a client and he is very happy with the new vents. We are pleased that the quality of the vents are great and easy to install. Fit like a glove.

The old plastic louvers had been chewed out by squirrels. The vent did not come with a wire mesh so I added some and put this over the old vent. Being only an inch thick it left plenty of brick sticking out to look good. I don't know why builders still use plastic vents. They have to know they don't last.

I run a nursery and water is every where every day all day. I accidentally rusted out my shop end vents. I called my repair man and he ordered me these aluminum end vents. I like them quite a bit since they look good and are not supposed to rust. I will be watering them daily.

Basic specs for this round gable vent.

Measure the round gable vent wall opening for your order size as we will deduct 1/2 inch in height and 1/2 inch in width. This slightly smaller size ensures a good fitting round gable vent. All aluminum products need a 1/4 inch of room around the product before meeting the wooden wall frame. This allows for expansion and contraction of the wood wall.

How to measure a gable vent?

The no flange has been the most common choice of installers for sliding into brick openings or gable openings where the look is to be recessed.

Once you slide the gable vent into the opening, it can be fastened in a number of ways determined by the vent installer. Then sealed off to prevent intruding water if necessary.

How to install a gable vent?

The screen on these round gable vents is completely up to you.

vinyl screen: 1/8 inch vented protrusions in charcoal black vinyl screen

We only use a durable long lasting vinyl screen on our gable vents.

Good to keep out wasps and other flying pests.

aluminum screen: 1/8 inch vented holes in aluminum wire screen

We use durable aluminum screen, but it can still be vulnerably to oxidation.

Good for preventing the spreading of embers in fire hazardous locations.

1/2 inch wire mesh: 1/2 inch vented openings in wire mesh screen

Good for keeping out 4 legged pests.

There are no staples or wood frames used in these gable vents. We use an aluminum rail system to stabilize the louvers and make the round gable vent impervious to rot and rust.
